Nelson Van Buren Waldrep was a shoes for the Confederate Army. He did not go into Battle although His pension records signed by Eliza Jane Berryman Waldrep states that he was a private in Co.I , 16 Regiment Inft. C.S.A. Volunteers.

The Pension Application for widows states that Nelson died on 22 April 1893. It states that Eliza was born at, or near, Edmond in Lawrence Co., Ala on 25 April 1839 and she was 76 years old when she signed the affidavit. It was signed on 24 April 1915.

And filed as the Schedule of Property Filed with Application for Pension.

There are no such military records for Nelson Van Buren Waldrep. A search of the Dept of Alabama Archives and History turned up negative.
