Edgar M. Abney, 78, of 141 N. C. St., Hamilton, Ohio, and a former resident of Clark County, died at 8:10 am Saturday at the Fort Hamilton Hospital in Hamilton, Ohio, after a short illness.
He was a native of Estill County, a son of the late Edgar Pearl and Sally Long Abney, a retired Hamilton Board of Education Employee and a member of the Church of Chirst in Mason, Ohio.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Eva Estes Abney; three sons, Robert A. Abney, Winchester; Shirley O. Abney, Hamilton Ohio, and Hobert M. Abney, Simi Valley, California; three daughters, Mrs. Earl W. (Orene) Stone, Winchester; Mrs. Dorothy Slafter and Miss Jean Abney, both of Cincinnati, Ohio; two half-brohters, Clayton A. Abney of Georgia and Howard Abney of Ohio; a half sister, Mrs. Blev Metcalf, Clay County, 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 am Tuesday at the Scobee Funeral Home by the Rev. B. L. Richardson and the Rev. James Cooper. Burial will be in the Winchester Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Stone, Henry Casteel, Randall Estes, John Estes, Henry c. Neal and Darrell Metcalf.
Friends may call at the funeral home 4-8 pm today.

Edith Abney Finney, 84, Winchester Health Care Center, widow of Pearl Abney and Paris Finney, died at 4:30AM today at the Clark Regional Medical Center.
A native of Wolfe County, she was the daughter of the late C. C. and Cynthia Ann Woodard Drake. She was a homemaker and a member of the Ruckerville Christian Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. William (Evadna) Wilcox, Clark County; a stepson, Ray Finney, Lockport; six grandchildren, Larry Abney, Titusville, Fla.; Linda Saylor, Lexington; Danny Abney, Billy Ray Wilcox and Ronnie and Terry Wilcox, Winchester; 11 great-grandchildren, three-half brothers, Woodford Drake, Winchester; Clayton Drake, Wilmore, and Roscoe Drake, Lexington.
Services will be ocnducted at 10Am Thursday at the Scobee Funeral Home by the William Keller. Burial will be in the WInchester Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Donnie Shepard, Ivan Psimer, Ellis Abner, Roy Drake, Wayne Shepard and Charles Saylor; honorary, Dr. Thomas Burchett, Dr. William Davis, Billy Ray Wilcox, Ronnie and Terry Wilcox, Jeff Saylor, Chuck Saylor, Danny Abney II and Clyde Abney.
Visitation will be 5-9PM Wednesday.

Elizabeth Abney, 86, of Dade City, died Saturday, August 16, 2003 at Hernando- Pasco Hospice Care Center. She moved here in 1938 from her native New York. She was a homemaker and a member of Fort Dade Bapti st Church. Survivors include four children,Oliver B. Abney, Jr., Bobby E. Abney and Mabel Woodbury, all of Dade City and Richard "Bo" Abney of Brooksville; four brothers, Howard Simmons of Connecticut, Gene and Richard Simmons of New York and Eddie Simmons of Dade City; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grand- children; and three great- great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Fort Dade Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 19, 2003 with Pastor Stephen Walding officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home form 6-8:00 p.m. on Monday (Today) , August 18, 2003.

Ellen Oliver Abner, 87, of 304 Bowling Road, Waynesboro, mother of Grace Wood, Winchester, died at 5:30pm Saturday at the Clark Regional Medical Center. A native of Leslie County, she was the daughter of the late J. C. and Maranda Lovings Oliver. She was a member of the Parlor Grove Baptist Church in Lincoln County. Additional survivors include her husband, Britton Abner, two other daughters, Audrey Bowling, Oxford Ohio, and Lillian Harron, College Corner, Ohio, two sons, Ambrose Bowling, Dalton, Ga., and Harold Bowling, Carlise, Ohio; three grand daughters, Debbie Bowman, Krista Bowling, and Patricia Swanger; five grandsons, Stanley and Parrett Bowling and Ryan, Larry and Leslie wood, and five great grand children. Services will be conducted at 2pm Tuesday at the Parlor Grove Baptist Church by the Rev. Mr. Hill. Burial will be in the Parlor Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be after 11am Tuesday at the church. Edgington Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Funeral services were conducted 10:30A.M. Wednesday, November 3, at Britton Chapel, Potosi, with Rev. Herbert Wiley officiating. Interment was in Lower Indian Creek Cemetery at Viburnum, under the direction of the Britton Bros Funeral Home of Potosi. Serving as pallbearers were: James House, Mark Abney, Brad Turner, Mike Barr, Jay Barr, and Pete McCue.

Elmarie Abney of 219 Houser, Flat River, was born January 20, 1917 in Elvins the daughter of the late Sam and Ida Womack Morris.
Surviving are her husband, W. B. Abney and the following children, Ladon Becker of Belleville, ILL., Dennis Becker of St Louis County, Leanna Abney at home, and Jeffrey Abney at home; and two sisters; Mrs. Lillian Cupp of Memphis Tenn., and Octavia Cremer of Brea, California. She was preceded in death by one brother, Earl J. Morris of Esther.
Chapel services will be conducted Thursday, May 16, at 2:30PM with the Rev Robert Fowler officiating. Interment will be in Three Rivers Cemetery under the direction of the C. Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Service of Desloge.

Elza Abney, 80, of 8113 Winchester Road, Clay City, widower of Willie Mae Stone Abney, died at 5:02 p.m. Friday at St. Joseph Hospital, Lexington. A native of Clark County, he was the son of the late Jasper and Linnie Willoughby Abney. He was a retired farmer and antique dealer. Survivors include a daughter, Katherine Williams, Cincinnati; a grandson, Steven Williams, Cincinnati; a granddaughter and son-in-law, Sandi and Lloyd Ross, Cleveland Heights, Ohio; a brother and sister-in-law, Lewis and Katherine Abner, Winchester; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Lorean and Denzil Rader and Juanita and Ray Adams, Winchester, and Gladys Griffett, Clay City, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Emma Frances Abney Long, 86, Cantrill Street, Irvine, wife of 68 years to Herman Earl Long, died Friday after a long illness. She was born Sept. 27, 1919 in Estill County, a daughter of the late Curtis and Lula Dunaway Abney and had lived in Estill County all of her life. She was a homemaker. Survivors in addition to her husband, Herman, include three daughters, Lois (Harold) Wiseman and Janice Estes, both of Irvine, and Margaret (Phillip) Wiseman of LaGrange; three sons, Billy (Thelma) Long of Cincinnati, Ohio, Roger Long of Irvine, and Larry Long of Epherta, Pa.; a sister, Helen Houghton of Vevay, Ind.; four brothers, Curtis Abney of Louisville, Charlie Abney of Nicholasville, James Abney of Irvine and Taylor (Florence) Abney of Camargo; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Lewis Funeral Home by Bro. Delvin Reese with burial at Oakdale Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Christopher Walters, Brandon Long, Darvin Johnson, Drew Wiseman, Mike Lay and Malcolm Wells.
Ernest Abney, formerly of Belgrade, died July 27 at Arcadia Valley Hospital at the age of 85.
He is survived by one son, Carl Abney of Florissant, three brothers; Claude Abney and Clarence Abney, both of Belgrade and Grafer Abney of Bismark, one sister, Lola Woods of Warren, Mich., three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at 3 PM Tuesday at the Britton Brothers (Sparks) Funeral Home in Potosi. Funeral services will be held 2PM Wednesday at the Britton Brothers Chapel with the Rev. Wesley Thomas officiating, Burial will be in the Liberty Baptist Cemetery at Belgrade.

She is preceded in death by her sisters: Georgia Abner and Minnie Smith, and her brother: Bill Abner.
