Gary Arnold Cassingham is the son of Lester Arnold Cassingham and Viola Virginia Rudd. He was born in 1943 in California.

In 1963, he married Diana Lynn Booth in California. Lynn, as she is known, is the daughter of J. P. Booth and Wilda Woods. She was born in 1945 in California.

Children of Gary Arnold Cassingham and Diana Lynn Booth:

  1. Gaye Yvonne Cassingham was born in 1966 in California.
  2. John Gailen Cassingham II was born in 1973 in California.

Notes

Gary: When Gary learned that he would be receiving his draft notice within the next week, he went and enlisted in the Navy. He was called to active duty 17 Apr 1967 and reported to Treasure Island Naval Station in San Francisco, CA. He was transferred out on 20 May 1967. Then he received his orders for active duty on 2 June 1967 aboard the USS Annapolis (AGMR1), Pacific Fleet, Long Beach, CA. He served an 11 month tour of duty in the Vietnam Combat Zone. On 22 Feb 1968 he was sent to the Naval Hospital in Subic Bay, Philippines where he was operated on for a hydrosil. On 28 Feb 1968 he was sent back to the Annapolis. On 4 May 1968 he was transferred home for a 30 day furlough. Then on 9 June 1968 he was transferred to the USS Cree (ATF84) based in San Diego, CA. On 30 Sept 1968 he had temporary duty on base at the Naval Station in San Diego, CA. On 16 Oct 1968 he was released from active duty as a 2nd Class Petty Officer.
