[Hays Daily News, Hays, KS, 23 Feb 2004] Eva A. Norton QUINTER - Eva A. Norton, 85, died Friday, Feb. 20, 2004, at Gove County Medical Center. She was born April 6, 1918, in Quinter to Andrew and Mary (Anderson) Bird. She graduated from Quinter High School in 1936 and attended Kansas Wesleyan College, Salina. She married Jake F. Norton on Dec. 26, 1946, in Park. He died Jan. 18, 2000. She was a homemaker. Survivors include two sons, Charlie Norton, Long Beach, Calif., and Kenneth Norton, Hays; two daughters, Rose Shilling, Mesa, Ariz., and Mary Wilson, Cozad, Neb.; a brother, Eldon Bird, Quinter; two sisters, Norma Eichman, Quinter, and Lorene Redmond, Billings, Mont.; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Park; burial in the church cemetery. A wake service will be at 7 p.m. Monday at Schmitt Funeral Home, Quinter. Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Masses or the church. |
