John Richard Ellis (Sr.) is the son of Everoyd Emmett Ellis and Betty Ola Walcher. He was born 5 December 1932 in Panhandle, Carson, Texas. He died 14 April 2007 at age 74 in Seguin, Guadalupe, Texas. On 17 April 2007, he was buried at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park, Guadalupe, Texas.
