Hortense Elizabeth Burdette is the daughter of Martin Luther Burdette and Lydia Susan Roach. She was born 23 July 1894 in Danvers, McLean, Illinois. She died 8 May 1969 at age 74 in Bloomington, McLean, Illinois. She is buried at Park Lawn Cemetery, Danvers, McLean, Illinois.

On 6 September 1918, at age 24, she married Lyle Strubhar Stuckey, who was age 22, in Bloomington, McLean, Illinois. He is the son of Christian Roth Stuckey and Catherine Strubhar. He was born 22 January 1896 in Danvers, McLean, Illinois. He died 17 August 1970 at age 74 in Bloomington, McLean, Illinois. He is buried at Park Lawn Cemetery, Danvers, McLean, Illinois.
