James Blaine Baber (Sr.) is the son of Virginia Susan Miller and Charles Alexander Baber. He was born 17 January 1892 in West Virginia. He died in 1949 at age 56. He is buried at Ladies Union Cemetery, Stockton, Jo Daviess, Illinois.

On 17 January 1920, at age 28, he married Alice L. Stephenson, who was age 27. She is the daughter of George H. Stephenson and Esther. She was born 3 November 1892 in Illinois. She died in November 1966 at age 73 in Stockton, Jo Daviess, Illinois. She is buried at Ladies Union Cemetery, Stockton, Jo Daviess, Illinois.
