Mary A. Gaff is the daughter of Catherine Egolf and William Gaff. She was born between Jun 1857 and May 1858 in Indiana. She probably died sometime before 1887.

On 4 July 1883, at age 26, she married Noah Mark Barcus, who was age 25, in Noble county, Indiana. He is the son of Isaac Barcus and Mary Ann Peters. He was born 6 October 1857 in Johnstown, Licking, Ohio. He died 28 January 1927 at age 69 in Albion, Noble, Indiana. He is buried at Rose Hill Cemetery, Albion, Noble, Indiana.

    Barcus Noah Mark, son of Isaac and Mary Ann Barcus, was born at Johnstown, Licking County, Ohio, Oct. 6, 1857; died in Albion Jan. 28, 1927, aged 69 years, 3 months and 22 days. He was the 8th child of a family of 10 children. When but a small child he came with his parents to Indiana, settling near Lake Wawasee. It was here that he lost his mother when he was but six years of age. When he became a young man, he taught school. Later he learned the carpenter’s trade, at which he worked the rest of his life. On Nov. 9, 1887 he married Anna Chilcote, and they had 3 boys and 2 girls, Weir of Gary, Delbert of Auburn, Donald of Albion, Mrs. Beulah Vinsen of Pensacola, Fla., and Mrs. Bessie Justus of Fort Wayne; also a son, Otto, of Memphis Tenn., by a former marriage. He has spent most of his married life in and around Albion. He was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church and the modern Woodmen of American. He leaves his wife; six children; one brother, Rufus, of Cromwell; one sister, Laura Pratt of Ohio; and eleven grandchildren. Funeral Sunday at St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. Burial, Albion Cemetery.
