Imogene (Davis) Ashburn Obituary

Imogene Ashburn, 52, 2504 W. Purdue Ave., died Friday in Ball Hospital following an extended illness. She attended elementary school in Buena Vista, Ky., and graduated from high school in Lockland, Ohio. Mrs. Ashburn was a graduate of Bethesda Hospital School of Nursing in Cincinnati and was employed there following graduation.

Mrs. Ashburn moved to Muncie and was a member of First Baptist Church, Ball Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, American Association of Operating Nursaes, the Salvation Army and the Delaware Country Club. She was president-elect of the Delaware-Blackford Medical Society Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband, Dr. Clarence Ashburn; one daughter, Rebecca Ashburn, Muncie; two sons, Charles and William Ashburn, both of Muncie; and several aunts and uncles, including Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Clark, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., with whom she made her home for several years.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Meeks Mortuary with Rev. Dan Mottox, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Elm Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary from 2-4 p.m. Sunday or prior to services Monday.
