G'stone Will's : I
got that wrong as there seems to be 4 wills and 4 admons. They must have hidden
the wills well after they made them as it appears they could not be found
straight away, because usually admons are for when there is no will or it cannot
be found. I'm not too sure about the one where the will comes before the
admon ! or were there 2 Thomases ?

I John Addy of Repps-cum-bastwick , miller, this my last will and testament ,
I appoint my daughter Harriett Addy to be the sole executor & trustee . I
give all my plates linen china glass books pictures wines furniture & other
household effects to my said daughter absolutely . I give and devise my double
cottage situated at P Heigham . . next a road leading from clay pit lane to the
railway & Hickling with the outbuildings gardens to the same . . now in the
occupation of William Goodwin & Emma Alms to my said daughter . I give &
devise the dwelling house at Repps-cum-bastwick wherin i now reside and the
pightle of land now partly planted with raspberries near thereto . . & also
the double cottage with gardens . . near to my said dwellinghouse & occupied
by Thomas George & my son George Addy & also the small piece of land at
R-c-B situated next the Gt Yarmouth to Stalham Road and nearly opposite the
triangular piece of waste land on the way to Potter heigham bridge & also
the piece of land belonging to me next the L-- road connecting with the Gt
Yarmouth to stalham road . . . about 40 rods and adjoins the property of Gayton
to my said son George Addy his heirs and assigns charged nevertheless with the
payment thereof to my said daughter Harriet Addy within six calendar months of
my decease of the sum of fifty pounds with interest there on from my death at
the rate of �4 per annum for her absolute use . I direct and declare that my
said son shall permit my said daughter Harriett Addy to occupy free of rent the
said dwellinghouse wherein i now reside with the outbuildings gardens . . for 3
calendar months after my decease . I give devise and bequeath all the residue
and remainder of my real and personal estate unto my said daughter Harriet Addy

In the name of God amen I JOSEPH GIRDLESTONE of Hempstead in the county of Norfolk farmer being very much indisposed in body but of sound mind and memory
( thanks be given to almighty god for the same ) do make publish and declare this my last Will and testament in manner following First I make nominate and appoint my brother the Revd Mr Zurishaddai Girdlestone of Baconsthorpe in the said county to be executor of this my last Will and testament and trustee for my children and my will and mind is that all my just debts be first paid and discharged and after payment of my just debts funeral expenses and the charges of the probate of this my last will my mind and desire is that all the rest residue and remainder of my goods chattels moneys personal effects whatsoever shall by my said Executor be equally paid to and amongst JOHN, HENRY,SARAH AND ANN

The will of WILLIAM GIRDLESTONE of WELLS NEXT THE SEA
In the name of God Amen I William Girdlestone of Wells next the Sea in the County of Norfolk Baker being weak and indisposed in body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be given unto God calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament that is to say principally first of all I give and recommend my soul into the hands of almighty god that gave it and my body I recommend to the earth to be buried in decent Christian burial at the direction of my executors with full hopes of being raised again at the general resurrection by the mighty power of God and as touching such worldly estate as it hath pleased God to bless me with I give devise and dispose the same in the following manner and form
, first I give and bequeath to ELIZABETH MY WELL BELOVED DAUGHTER all my goods moveables and effects to be by her enjoyed when she
is of age Secondly I consitute make and ordain Robert Davy of Riburgh Norfolk Maltster and Robert Davy of Beccles Suffolk Schoolmaster the sole executors of this my last Will and testament it is my desire that they would dispose of my pew in church for the use of my daughter and also that they would put out the whole of the subject left by me on mortgage Thirdly but if Elizabeth my daughter should die a minor then it is my will and desire that my executors do pay immediately on her decease the sum of �20 of lawful money of England to John Davy, Taylor and salesman of Wells aforesaid to be equally divided among his children and that the remainder be equally divided among the surviving children of Robert Davy of Riburgh aforesaid And I do hereby positively affirm and declare this to be my last Will and Testament In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 2nd day of July in the year of our Lord 1779 (signed Wm Girdlestone)

Before the Rev John Crofts Clerk surrogate duly appointed of his right worshipful George Sandby D.D. official principal of the Episcopal Consistorial Court of Norwich lawfully constituted and administration of all and singular the goods of the within named William Girdlestone the testator deceased and any way concerning this his will was then duly granted to Robert Davy of Ryburgh one of the executors within named he being first duly sworn and power being reserved for making the like grant to Robert Davy the other executor within named if and when he shall apply for the same, saving �.
