WILLIAM HENRY KIRBY.

    William Henry Kirby, second child and only son of Margaret Belinda Eller and Joseph H. Kirby, was born February 12th, 1872. He died December 29th, 1901.


DELLA MARGARET KIRBY.

    Della Margaret Kirby, the third child and second daughter of Margaret Belinda Eller and Joseph H Kirby, was born December 23rd, 1876. She died December 24th, 1876.


ELIZABETH MARGARET KIRBY.

    Elizabeth Margaret Kirby, the fourth child and third daughter of Margaret Belinda Eller and Joseph H Kirby, was born March 13th, 1880. She was married to Charles E. Guthrie of Bedford, Indiana, March 29th, 1902. To this union one child was born: Margaret Lenora. Elizabeth is a Pythian Sister and a member of the Methodist Church.

Margaret Lenora Guthrie was born December 16th, 1909.


VEHENE SUSAN ELLER.

    Vehene Susan Eller, third daughter and fourth child of Henry Eller and Elizabeth Nancy Shreve, was born December 4th, 1850. She was married to John A Mayfield, near Bloomington, Indiana, September 1st, 1870. The children of this union were Joseph B., Myrtle A., and Francis E. Her second marriage was to John Gooding, September 9th 1899, near St. Joseph, Missouri. She resides in McFall, Missouri.


JOSEPH B. MAYFIELD

    Joseph B. Mayfield, oldest child of Vehene Susan Eller and John A. Mayfield, was born December 26th, 1872. He was drowned in the Missouri River, near Omaha, Nebraska, July 3rd, 1893. The body was never recovered.


MYRTLE A. MAYFIELD.

    Myrtle A. Mayfield, second child and first daughter of Vehene Susan Eller and John A. Mayfield, was born March 22nd, 1874, She was married to William T. Seymour, March 13th, 1892. The children of this union are Catherine Vehene, Francis Mayfield, Paul Winstead, Esther Elizabeth, John Martin, Myrtle Rush, Laura McVicar, Mary Geneva, Velma Evadine and William Aaron. She lives at McFall, Missouri.

Catherine Vehene Seymour was born March 23rd, 1893. She died March 29th, 1982.
Francis Mayfield Seymour was born September 2nd, 1894. He is a farmer and stock raiser at Malonga, S. Dakota.
Louis Hazel Seymour was born September 22nd, 1893. She married Clarence G. Wilson, February 24th, 1899. They are farmers and stock raisers.
Paul Winstead Seymour was born February, 1898.
Ester Elizabeth Seymour was born June 27th, 1900.
John Martin Seymour was born March 9th, 1902.
Myrtle Rush Seymour was born October 23rd, 1894.
Laura McVicar Seymour was born November 13th, 1906.
Mary Geneva Seymour was born and died May 5th, 1910.
William Aaron Seymour was born September 17th, 1916.
Wilma Evadine Seymour was born November 12th, 1917.

FRANCIS E. MAYFIELD.

    Francis E. Mayfield, third child of Vehene Susan Eller and John A. Mayfield, was born September 3rd, 1886. She was married to Frank Coffer, December 26th, 1905. The children are Mary Lucretia, William, Henry and Josephine.

Mary Lucretia Coffer was born June 17th, 1910.
William Henry Coffer was born April 16th, 1913.
Josephine Coffer was born March 15th, 1915.


FRANCIS McVICAR ELLER.

    Francis McVicar Eller, fifth child and fourth daughter of Henry Eller and Elizabeth Nancy Shreve, was born March 4th, 1852, She was married to William Henry Johnson, a carpenter and farmer, November 2nd, 1879 at the Cross Roads M. E. Church. Their children are Maggie Leone, Robert Eller and Frances.


MAGGIE LEONE JOHNSON.

    Maggie Leone Johnson, oldest child of Francis McVicar Eller and W. H. Johnson, was born November 25th, 1881. She was married to Len Hanna, a barber of Bloomington, Indiana, April 19th, 1905, Their children are Harold Johnson and Hazel Mae.

Harold Johnson Hanna was born December 7th, 1905.
Hazel Mae Hanna was born December 23rd, 1900.


ROBERT ELLER JOHNSON.

    Robert Eller Johnson, second child and first son of Francis McVicar and W. H. Johnson, was born July 2nd, 1883. He died September 2nd, 1883.


FRANCES N. JOHNSON.

    Frances N. Johnson, third child and second son of Francis McVicar Eller and W. H. Johnson. Was born August 9th, 1885. He was married to Alice Thornton, May 5th, 1909. One child, Francis Jane, brightens this home. Frank is a genuine farmer.

Francis Jane Johnson was born March 15th, 1915.


MARY LAURA ELLER.

    Mary Laura Eller, sixth child and fifth daughter of Henry Eller and Elizabeth N. Shreve, was born near Bloomington, Indiana, April 8th, 1854. She was married to William D. Ward. Near Bloomington, Indiana, September 25th, 1881, by Rev. Baxter. Their children are Roy F., Annibelle, and Len Eller.


ROY F. WARD.

    Roy F. Ward, oldest child of Mary Laura Eller and William D. Ward, was born July 2nd. 1882. He married Annie Cirgen, November 25th, 1902. They have one child, Maud Francis. Roy is a member of the Methodist Church.

Maud Francis Ward was born December 3rd, 1903.

ANNABELLE WARD.

    Annibelle Ward, second child and first daughter of Mary Laura Eller and William D. Ward, was born March 25th, 1884. She was married to Allen Gwin, November 6th 1902. They have one child, Nellie Elizabeth. Annebelle is a member of the Methodist Church.

Nellie Elizabeth Gwin was born April 20th, 1903.


LEN ELLER WARD.

    Len Eller Ward, third child and second son of Mary Laura Eller and William D. Ward, was born April 23rd, 1887


JOSHUA B. M. ELLER.

    Joshua B. M. Eller, seventh child and second son of Henry Eller and Elizabeth N. Shreve, was born near Bloomington, Indiana, November 25th, 1855. He moved to Exeter, Nebraska, in 1877. He married Clara E. Buck, near Exeter, Nebraska, May 5th, 1881. He resided on a farm until 1898, when he moved to Omaha, Nebraska, where he has been employed by the Council Bluffs Street Railway Company. Their children are Clyde and Genevieve.


CLYDE ELLER.

    Clyde Eller, oldest child of Joshua B. M. Eller and Clara E; Buck, was born near Exeter, Nebraska, September 23rd, 1883. He moved with his parents to Omaha, Nebraska, where he attended business college. He was afterwards engaged in office work.


GENEVIEVE ELLER.

    Genevieve Eller, second child of Joshua B. M. Eller and Clara E. Buck, was born in Omaha, Nebraska, November 29th, 1893. She attended school until 1910. She was married to W. S. Cline of Omaha, Nebraska, February 27th, 1914. They have one child, William.

William Cline was born in Omaha, Nebraska, January 13th, 1915.


CHARLES DOW ELLER.

    Charles Dow Eller, eighth child and third son of Henry Eller and Elizabeth Nancy Shreve, was born near Bloomington, Indiana, January 23rd, 1858. He married Flora Brown near Bloomington, Indiana, November 21st, 1880. Three children were born to them, but died in infancy. Dow is a member of Franklin Lodge No. 22. Knights of Pythias. He spent his life in farming. He lives in Bloomington, Indiana.



SUSAN ELLER.

    Susan Eller was the sixth child and second daughter of John Eller and Susan Smith. No record of her birth was received. She was married to William Rowe.

JAMES H. ELLER.

    James H. Eller, seventh child and fifth son of John Eller and Susan Smith was born in Wayne County, Kentucky, April 12th, 1821. He came to Monroe County, Indiana, in 1833, with his parents, and settled on a farm five miles west of Bloomington, Indiana, where he grew to manhood. He was married to Ferby Sanders, September 1st, 1840. In 1848 he, with his family, moved to Clay township, Owen County, Indiana, where his home remained during his life. In the Mexican War he served in company A, 3rd Indiana regiment of infantry, under Colonel Jim Lane, and participated in the battle of Monterey. He enlisted August 22nd, 1862, in company I, 82nd Indiana Regiment Volunteers, under Colonel Morton, where he served as wagon master until disabled by a mule. He was the father of ten children: John W., James W., Lucinda, Harrison, Mary, Sarah, Joseph, Emma, Clara, and Charles. His occupations were farming and teaming. He was an ardent Christian and a hard worker in the Methodist Church. He died at the home of his son, Harrison, near Kokomo, Indiana, April 5th, 1903. The body was laid to rest in the Headings Chapel Cemetery, Owen, County, Indiana.

JOHN W. ELLER.

    John W. Eller, oldest child of James H. Eller and Feraby Sanders, was born in Monroe County, Indiana, October 1st, 1841. He was married to Nancy Sanders, March 135h, 1862, in Orange County, Indiana. They rode to their home in Monroe County Indiana, on horseback through the mud, a distance of 55 miles. To them five children were born: Feraby Jane, Aries, Johnnie, Joseph, and Jesse. He enlisted in the United States Army in Bloomington, Indiana, in Company 1, 145th Indiana volunteers, for service in the Civil War. After a few weeks at Camp Carrington, Indianapolis, he went to Tunnelton, Georgia, and remained in the south until discharged at Macon, Georgia, January 21st, 1866. He was made corporal at Macon on March 10th, 1865. He joined the Methodist Episcopal Church at Headings Chapel when sixteen years of age; his schooling consisted of three months, each of thirteen years of subscription school and two years of free school. He has been a life-long Republican. He, with his wife, is spending the closing days of his life at the old home in Monroe County.


FERABY JANE ELLER

    Feraby Jane Eller, oldest child of John W. Eller and Nancy Sanders, was born December 6th, 1864. She died August 6th, 1866.


ARIE ELLER

    Arie Eller, second child of John W. Eller and Nancy sanders, was born august 11th, 1867. She was married to James Carlton Hendricks, November 16th, 1900. They have one child, James Hazel. Arie joined the Baptist Church at Stanford, Indiana, when seventeen years of age, and is now a member of the First Baptist Church of Bloomington, Indiana. She resides at 521 East Sixth Street, Bloomington, Indiana.

James Hazel Hendricks was born January 16th, 902


JOHN MELVIN ELLER.

    John Melvin Eller, third child and first son of John W Eller and Nancy Sanders, was born February 10th, 1873. He was married to Josie Myrtle Koontz, November 29th, 1905. One child, Amos Dillon, was born to this union. Johnnie died March 30th, 1912: the wife died November 3rd, 1910.

Amos Dillon Eller was born May 30th, 1910, died August 3rd, 1910.


JOSEPH MARIAN ELLER.

    Joseph Marian Eller, fourth child and second son of John W. Eller and Nancy Sanders, was born July 25th, 1877, died March 14th 1894.


JESSE MADISON ELLER.

    Jesse Madison Eller, the fifth child and third son of John W. Eller and Nancy Sanders, was born June 12th, 1879. He was married on Easter Sunday, April 11th, 1909 in Lawrenceville, Georgia, to Alma Wilson, Two children were born to this union: Jesse Lee and Grace Anna.

Jesse Lee Eller was born August 7th, 1910.
Grace Anna Eller was born and died in 1912.

JAMES WRIGHT ELLER.

    James Wright Eller, second child of James H. Eller and Feraby Sanders, was born in Monroe County Indiana, July 3rd, 1843. He enlisted in the United states Army in 1861 and served through the Civil War. He was imprisoned at Andersonville for five months. Just after the close of the war he married Nannie Milam, July 10th, 1867. To them eight children were born: Emet, Emory, Mary, Onna, Flora, Homer, Minnie and Della. He went west after the war and returned to Indiana about 1890. On July 20th, 1892, he married Mrs. Jane Bault of Owen County, Indiana. They live at New Richmond, Indiana, where they make their living gardening.


EMERY ELLER.

    Emery Eller, second child of James W. Eller and Nancy Milam, married Halla Permine of Seattle, Washington. They They have two daughters.


EMET ELLER.

    Emet Eller, oldest child of James W. Eller and Nancy Milam, was married to Anna Fender of Portland, Oregon. Have two sons and one daughter.


MARY ELLER.

    Mary Eller, third child of James R. Eller and Nancy Milam, died when one year old.


FLORA ELLER.

    Flora Eller, fourth child of James W. Eller and Nancy Milam, died when nine months old.


ONNA ELLER.

    Onna Eller, fifth child of James W. Eller and Nancy Milam, married David Neff of Portland Oregon. There were six children.


HOMER ELLER.

    Homer Eller, sixth child of James W. Eller and Nancy Milam, married Grace Cilgar of Portland, Oregon. There was one son, which died in infancy, Homer died February 20th 1899.


MINNA ELLER.

    Minna Eller, sixth child of James W. Eller and Nancy Milam, married Lewis Brannin, October 3rd, 1900. Their children are Paul, Edith, Luther and Edna.


DELLA ELLER.

    Della Eller, eighth child of James W. Eller and Nancy Milam, married Verna Phelps of Portland, Oregon. There is one daughter.

LUCINDA JANE ELLER.

    Lucinda Jane Eller, third child and oldest daughter of James H. Eller and Feraby sanders, was born in Monroe County, Indiana, March 22nd, 1846. She was converted and united with the M. E. Church at the age of 19 years. She married John Green of near Spencer, Indians, August 20th, 1866. She died December 25th 1875, on her way from Arkansas to Indiana.




NATHAN H. ELLER.

    Nathan H, Eller, fourth child and third son of James H. Eller and Feraby Sanders, was born in Owen County, Indiana, January 16th, 1848, He grew to manhood on the farm near Freeman, Indiana. He was married to Sarah A. Freeman, December 20th, 1866. to this union five children were born: Feraby Ann, Minnie Ida, William Holliday, Joseph Wesley and Caleb Harrison. He moved hid family to Clinton County, Indiana, in 1881, and here all the children grew up. Several years later he moved to a farm near Kokomo, Indiana, and in a few years to a farm near Logansport, Indiana, where, with the youngest son, Caleb, they now live. He was an ardent supporter of the church, having joined the Headings Chapel M. E. Church in his youth. He served the church as Sunday School superintendent and Class Leader a number of years. He worked hard to care for his family, and under the strain broke down early in life with sciatica rheumatism.

FERABY ANN ELLER.

    Feraby Ann Eller, oldest child of Nathan H. Eller and Sarah A. Freeman, was born in Monroe County, Indiana, September 13th, 1867. The days of childhood were spent in Monroe, Owen and Clinton counties of Indiana. Her education was limited to the common schools. She married G. W. Myers of Hillisburg, Indiana, August 19th, 1888. The children of this union were an unnamed infant, Luie Adaline, Harley Washington, Osie Adam, and Harrison Owen. She married Val Snyder, October 8th, 1902. Annie and family belong to the M. E. Church and reside at Broad Ripple, Indiana.

The unnamed infant was born and died November 6th, 1890.
Luie Adaline Myers was born November 12th, 1891, and died November 15th, 1891.
Harley Washington Myers was born September 26th, 1892. He died March 15th 1894.
Osie Adam Myers was born March 3rd, 1895. He married Mabel Hattie Wilson, April 15th, 1917.
Harrison Owen Myers was born July 10th, 1899.


MINNIE IDA ELLER

    Minnie Ida Eller, second child of Nathan H. Eller and Sarah A. Freeman was born in Owen County, Indiana, 19th 1870. Her education consisted of that furnished by the common schools. She married John A Stewart, near Hillisburg, Indiana, April 10th, 1892. Their children are: Sylvia F., Opal R., Emma Z., Oscar H., John Elmer, and Roy D. She and her family are members of the Wesleyan Church and in the church she finds her place in service to God and man. They live on a farm in Tipton County, Indiana.

Sylvia F. Stewart was born January 13th, 1893. She was married to Earl Morrison, May 11th, 1912. Their children are: Russell Garnet, born April 26th, 1913 and Clarence, born December 20th, 1915.
Opal R. Stewart was born July 3rd, 1894, She married Jasper Miller, February 5th, 1913. They have one child, Evelyn Pauline.
Emma Z. Stewart was born October 3rd, 1895. She married Raymond Vawter, September 23rd, 1916.
Oscar H. Stewart was born January 21st, 1898.
John Elmer Stewart was born October 18th, 1902.
Ray D. Stewart was born January 16th, 1904.

WILLIAM H. ELLER.

    William H. Eller, third child of Nathan H. Eller and Sarah A. Freeman, was born in Monroe County, Indiana, July 9th, 1873. His education consisted of that furnished by the common schools of Hillisburg and Johnson township, Clinton County, Indiana. He married Matilda Stewart, October 5th, 1893. Their children are: William Oklie, Octa Alena, Addie Ann, Mary Francis, Arthur Harrison, James Herschell, Manda May, and Kenneth Archibald. William has followed farming all of his life and at present is living on a farm near Tipton, Indiana. He is trying to give each of his children a high school education, two of them having graduated and two more being in the Tipton High School. He joined the M. E. Church in 1891, and is training his family to put the kingdom of God first.

William Oklie Eller was born June 26th, 1894. He is a graduate of high school and has taught three years, He is now in the U. S. Army, training in the aviation corps at Fort Thomas, Kentucky.
Octa Alena Eller was born in 1896. She is a graduate of high school. She married Otto Mikels, September 7th, 1915. and, with her husband, is in Taylor University, Upland, Indiana.
Addie Ann Eller was born November 12th, 1897.
Mary Francis Eller was born July 24th, 1899, and died February 26th, 1900.
Arthur Harrison Eller was born June 14th, 1901.
James Herschell Eller was born August 19th, 1903.
Manda May Eller was born November 3rd, 1911.
Kenneth Archibald Eller was born October 8th, 1915.


JOSEPH W. ELLER.

    Joseph W. Eller, fourth child of Nathan H. Eller and Sarah A. Freeman, was born in Owen County, Indiana, September 20th, 1880. He graduated from the common schools of Clinton County, Indiana, in 1895, and from DePauw University in 1908. He was converted and joined the Methodist Episcopal Church of Hillisburg, Indiana, in 1897, entered the ministry of the church, joined the Indiana Conference at Greensburg in 1906. was ordained Deacon at Washington in 1909 and Elder at Evansville in 1910. He has served the following charges: Cataract, 1906-1908; Bowling Green, 1908-1910; Cory 1910-1911; Heltonville, 1911-1915; Tell City, 1915-1917; Waldron, 1917. He is a member of the F. and A. M. Lodge at Waldron, Indiana, and of Tell City Lodge No 206. I. O. O. F. He married Agnes Meredith, September 4th, 1907. Two (three) children were born to this union: Margaret Adaline and Meredith Freeman.(Gertrude Alice)

MERIDITH FREEMAN ELLER


Margaret Adaline Eller was born and died September 19th, 1908.
Meredith Freeman Eller was born April 25th, 1912.

CALEB HARRISON ELLER.

    Caleb Harrison Eller, fifth child of Nathan H. Eller and Sarah A. Freeman, was born in Clinton County, Indiana, August 8th, 1883. He moved with his parents to a farm near Kokomo, Indiana, and then with them to a farm near Logansport, Indiana, where he now lives and cares for them in their old age, Caleb is a member of the M. E. Church at Webb Chapel, on Royal Center Charge.

MARY ELIZABETH ELLER

    Mary Elizabeth Eller, fifth child and second daughter of James H, Eller and Feraby Sanders, was born in Owen County, Indiana, July 1st, 1850, She was converted and united with the Headings Chapel Church at the age of sixteen years, She married Marion Freeman, November 25th, 1870, and to them one child was born: Mary L. Mary Elizabeth died May 16th, 1873.

Mary L. Freeman died at the age of six months.


SARAH ELLER.

    Sarah Eller, sixth child and third daughter of James H. Eller and Feraby Sanders, was born in Owen County, Indiana. She died when three years old. (buried at Heddings Chapel Cemetery)


JOSEPH ELLER.

    Joseph Eller, seventh child and fourth son of James H. Eller and Feraby Sanders, was born in Owen County, Indiana, October 18th, 1852. He married Margaret A. Smith, September 28th, 1872. To this union three children were born: Infant, Harry and Carrie. He was a farmer by trade and a member of the Methodist Church. He died near West Plains, Kansas of typhoid fever. (d. 11-29-1881; buried in Richland Cemetery, Monroe Co., Ind.)


HARRY ELLER.

    Harry Eller, Son of Joseph Eller and Margaret A. Smith was born in Owen County, Indiana, May 23rd, 1876. He married Dora Sidener, November 30th, 1904. Their children are Dorothy, Evelyn and Martha. He attended Wabash College, from which he graduated in 1904. Harry is a member of the First Methodist Church of Crawfordsville, Indiana, and has served the church as a member of the Official Board and as Treasurer. He is giving his time to the office of president of the Montgomery County Sunday School Association, is a member of the board of trustees of Wabash College and is a member of the Ouiatenon Club, the oldest literary society in his city. He is active in the civic organizations, is president of the Montgomery County Law and Order League and is interested in several business enterprises. He, with his sister, left orphans, were compelled to struggle in their childhood. The story of their struggle, especially of Harry's effort to get through college, to do which he worked at every honorable task from cleaning cuspidors to banking, is worthy of the highest praise. In college he was honored with every office which the student body could give him, in addition to being private secretary to the college president.

Dorothy Evelyn Eller was born July 29th, 1906.
Martha Eller was born May 29th, 1910.
