1 NOTE Tobias died of an unknown illness while in service. He was in Co. D,
2 CONC 10th Regiment, N.C. St. 1st Regiment N.C. Artillery. His estate was
2 CONC divided on 19 Nov 1880 (17 years after his death, when his son, Henry
2 CONC L. became of age, division included all except George, who being the
2 CONC oldest may have already received his share and Rosa Clementine who was
2 CONC deceased (her children received her share.  Rosa Maria m. 8 sep 1867,
2 CONC Ebenezer Lentz, age 17, son of Tobias and Lydia Hill Lentz. Rosa was
2 CONC 35 years of age. No record of any children. the marriage may have been
2 CONC annulled. Rosa and Wiley Earnhardt Sr. had a son born 21 Apr 1869. The
2 CONC son, named Wiley Jr. taught school for many years at Parks School near
2 CONC Shuping Mill. In 1886 or 1888 (hard to read), Rosa m. Jacob
2 CONC Holshouser. She and Jacob and her son Wiley Jr. are buried in Rock
2 CONC Grove Church Cemetery.

2 CONC they built what is now known as the old Home Place on Concord road. It
2 CONC is said that Mary drove a team of horses with a wagon loaded with
2 CONC grain and other supplies over a hard frozen ground while holding a
2 CONC baby on her lap less than a year old. After Henry's death Mary lived
2 CONC with her daughter Beulah Goodman Kuttz, and later stayed with her
2 CONC children.

1 NOTE Henry was raised on a farm.  Schools he attended were in Landis, N.C.
2 CONC and Enocksville, N.C. His first employment was with the Canon Textile
2 CONC Plant in Kannapolis , N.C. in the late thirties and early forties.  He
2 CONC was an Inspector of Cloth at the time he quit this plant, and began
2 CONC work as a Machinest helper with the Southern Railroad in Spencer, N.C.
2 CONC Several years later he served a Machinist Apprenticeship.  He was
2 CONC employed for ten years by the Southern Railway before moving from
2 CONC Salisbury, N.C. to Rockingham, N.C. in 1956.  He was then employed as
2 CONC a Machinest by the Seaboard Railroad for another ten years.  Due to
2 CONC back problems he moved to Charlotte, N.C. in 1967 and began work at
2 CONC Asphalt Construction Company.  The name of this company was changed
2 CONC many times, and when Henry retired in September, 1982, it was known as
2 CONC Crowder Construction Company.  While employed by this company he was
2 CONC maintenance Mechanic of Heavy Machinery.  He lived in Charlotte for
2 CONC sixteen years, and at his retirement, moved back to Rockingham, N.C.
2 CONT Ruth was the daughter of Walter and Cora Holshouser Earnhardt of
2 CONC Salisbury, N.C. Henry and Ruth were the parents of two sons, Larry Ray
2 CONC and Alan Carr.  As a member of the First United Church of Christ,
2 CONC Henry has been Secretary, Vice President, and President of the Men of
2 CONC the Church.  He was the first man in the church to hold the
2 CONC President's job for a second term.  Henry also worked at manu al labor
2 CONC on the Educational Building of the for a New Church in 1954, and was
2 CONC Assistant Scout Master of Boys Scout Troop # 445.  As a member of Park
2 CONC Avenue Presybterian Church in Rockingham, N.C. he served as a Deacon,
2 CONC on the Property Committee, and taught the Men's Bible Class.  On
2 CONC returning to Rockingham, N.C., and as a present member of the
2 CONC Cameronian Presbytrian Church, he has been on the Property and Grounds
2 CONC Committtee, Search Conunittee, Session, VicePresident and President of
2 CONC the Men of the Church.  Henry also helped with the Crafts in Bible
2 CONC School and Chairman of the Maintenance Committee, and Assistant
2 CONC Teacher of the Men's Class.  At present he is on the Session.  He has
2 CONC a 16 x 20 Worksop in which he spends many hours as well as staying
2 CONC busy with Family Research.

2 CONC attended schools in Granite Quarry, N.C. and Rockingham, N.C.,
2 CONC graduating from Rockingham High School in 1961.  After a year at N.C.
2 CONC State in Raleigh, N.C., he entered the Air Force in 1962, taking his
2 CONC training in Lackland, TX and Kessler, MS before being sent to Pakistan
2 CONC as a Communications Operator.  He was honorably discharged in 1966 as
2 CONC an Airman lst Class.  Larry was employed by the American Credit
2 CONC Corporation as a Computer Room Supervisor and later as a Programmer in
2 CONC Charlotte, N.C. in 1973 he moved to Las Vegas, Nevada.  His first
2 CONC employment there was in the Howard Hughes Bank.  Later he completed a
2 CONC course in Burroughs Item Processing System from the Burroughs
2 CONC Corporation.  He was an Analyst Consulatant for Computer Programmers
2 CONC at the time of his death.  Larry liked tennis, card games, bowling,
2 CONC and anything that challenged his physical and mental skills.  He won a
2 CONC 15 in.  Bowling Trophy in an Officers T oumament in Charlotte, N.C.
2 CONC One year he was voted "Mr.  Personality" of the School Room Class.
2 CONC Larry died on Oct ober 17, 1986 andis buried in the Salisbury, N.C.
2 CONC City cemetery.  He remained single.

2 CONC Projectionist, before entering the U.S. Army in 1968.  He trained at
2 CONC Ft.  Bragg, N.C. and at Ft.  Gordon, GA, before being sent to Vietnam
2 CONC in 1969, as a Communications Operator, near the DMZ.  He was honorably
2 CONC discharged in 1070 as a Sp./5. Alan then attended Central Piedmont
2 CONC Community College in Charlotte, N.C. On moving to /Rockingham, he
2 CONC attended and graduated from Richmond Technical Institute in 1974.  He
2 CONC was a Computer Operator for Quinn Wholesale in Warsaw, N.C., and later
2 CONC was employed by Guilford Mlls Incorporated.  Still later he was
2 CONC employed by Burlington Industries in Rockingham, N.C, Alan plays piano
2 CONC and the guitar and has entered State Championship Chess Tournaments.
2 CONC where he won two Chess Trophies.  He is presently employed by Alpha
2 CONC Plastics, a division of Georgia Pacific.  Alan is a past Master Mason.
2 CONC Alan and Su have one daughter and they are now separated at present;
2 CONC Su and daughter are living in Fayetteville, N.C. at this writing.
