of Schuylkill County
Emily would give birth to nine children in the first twenty years of her marriage. Her son, Arlin, talked fondly of growing up on the Behler farm. Although at times it was very difficult financially the memories of her oldest child were filled with a love and a longing to return to those days. It could not have been an easy life but Emily was able to bring joy to it all. Emily and Samuel had to move their family to New Jersey sometime in 1940. They were unable to keep the farm and New Jersey offered a new job to Samuel. Reluctantly for some and with joyful anticipation in some of the younger children the family moved to Lake Hopatcong, New Jersey. |
