1122. Joel Farser HAWKS was born on 15 Apr 1797 in Richfield, Qtsego County, NY. He died on 22 Dec 1868 in Baraboo, Sauk County, WI.

He was married to Lydia BROWN (daughter of Isaac FILKEN) on 27 Jan 1818. Lydia BROWN was born on 15 Feb 1801 in Richfield, Qtsego County, NY. She died on 22 May 1973 in Baraboo, Sauk County, WI. Joel Farser HAWKS and Lydia BROWN had the following children:

+1913 ii. Lewis Charles HAWKS.
1914 iii. Lydia L. HAWKS was born on 10 May 1829.
1915 iv. George HAWKS was born about 1832.
1916 v. William HAWKS.
1917 vi. G. W. HAWKS. G> W. remains somewhat of a mystery in that we have no vital statistics for him. His initials may have stood for George William. That he is the son of Joel and Lydia is proved in a letter dated 5 Oct 1871 in the probate file of Lewis C. (Charles Lewis) Hawks from L.B. (Lydia Brown) Hawks requesting that her son G. W. Hawks be appointed guardian of Lewis Hawks minor heirs (1880 letter, Clerk of Probate, Sauk County, WI) on Jan. 28 1875, G. W. Hawks of McHenry County, IL, "Uncle", was appointed guardian of the children of Charles L. Hawls (McHenry County, IL, Probate file 1225). G. W. maybe G. W. Hawks, minister, who married Matthew C. Hawks and Margaret Morris in Cook County, IL, on 4 Nov. 1873.
