Obituary of Blanche LeBlanc

This is the obituary for my gg-grandmother, Blanche LeBlanc.

Funeral services for Mrs. Tony Palombo, 91, were held at a 2 p.m. Mass Sunday at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic church in Sulphur. The Rev. Francis Nally, assistant pastor, officiated.

Burial, under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Sulphur, was in Mimosa Pines Garden of Memory. A rosary was recited Saturday night at the funeral home chapel.

Mrs. Palombo, the former Blanche LeBlanc, died at 7:30 p.m. Friday in a Maplewood rest home after an illness of six months. She was a native of St. Martinville, and had lived in Vinton with her late husband 45 years before moving to Sulphur about 15 years ago.

She is survived by 118 descendants, including six daughters, Mrs. Etienne Landry of Vinton, Mrs. Henry Romero of Lake Charles, Mrs. Frank Brown of San Angelo, TX, and Mrs. John L. LeBlanc, Mrs. Edwin Thompson, and Mrs. Lester Duhon, all of Sulphur; three sons, Ouide Palombo and W.B. Palombo, both of Sulphur, and Wilbert Palombo of Lake Charles.

Also, five brothers, Ulysse LeBlanc of Vinton, Leon LeBlanc of Port Arthur, TX, and O'Neil LeBlanc, Rene LeBlanc and Dennis LeBlanc, all of Abbeville; two sisters, Mrs. Azilda Larpenter of Vinton and Mrs. Thoe Baudoin of Abbeville; and 27 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren and 23 great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers, all grandsons, were Jerry Lee LeBlanc, Lindsey Landry, Anthony Palombo, Jay Duhon, Arlen Brown, and Charles Palombo. Honorary pallbearers were Chick Hines, Mike Duhon, Ronnie LeBlanc, A.D. Duhon, Gregory Palombo and Otha Shannon.
