Obituary of

This is the obituary for my g-grandfather, Lionel Joseph Hines.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Immaculate Conception Catholic church for Lionel J. (Pop) Hines, 67, of 4028 Garfield avenue, Grove, who died Sunday at 9:45 p.m. in St. Mary's hospital.

While he had been in ill health for some time, his death came unexpectedly.

A rosary will be said tonight at 7:30 p.m. in the Levingston-Moerbe Funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Oak Bluff Memorial park in Port Neches.

Mr. Hines was a native of Cottonport, La., and had lived in the area for 31 years. He had operated Hines service station in Groves for the past 10 years. Prior to that, he worked for Texaco Inc., for more than 20 years. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception church.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Claudia Hines, Groves; two daughters, Mrs. S.G. Newsome, Groves, and Mrs. W.P. Thibodeaux, Jacksonville, Fla.; two sons, Lewis Hines, Port Neches, and Charles E. Hines, Sulphur, La.; one sister, Miss Estelle Hines, Cottonport; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
