Dumfries Parish Church Records

The parish of Dumfries is bounded on the north by Holywood, Kirkmahoe and Tinwald parishes, on the east by the parish of Torthorwald and south by the parish of Carlaverock. Dumfries has the earliest collection of baptismal registers dating from 1605, and married and burial registers, which dates respectively from 1616 and 1617. There is also very early Kirk session records that provide a fascinating glimpse into the moral, as well as, religious life of the church in Dumfries.
