Captured at Ft. Morgan, Aug. 23, 1864; transfered first to Ft. Columbus, NY; later transfered to Elmira, NY prison. Died from Typhoid Fever, Jan. 4, 1865; grave # 1248, Woodlawn Cemetery (son of Caleb Burkett)

Ennis Franklin

10/26/1846 - 03/06/1865

Company A 1st Alabama Artillery Battalion, CSA

Companies A-F were formed as part of the "Army of Alabama". Captured at Fort Morgan, AL 1864. Transferred to Elmira Prison, Elmira, NY (know as Hellmira because of its appalling conditions). Died 6 March 1865 (just a few months before the prisoners were released). He is buried in the Confederate section of Woodlawn National Cemetery, grave number 2387. Ennis was the son of Mark (Martin) Franklin and Nancy Stapleton of Butler County, Alabama.

John Thomas Dean
1835 - 01/27/1885

Company A 1st Alabama Artillery Battalion, CSA

Captured at Fort Morgan.  Transferred to Elmira NY, Elmira, NY. Died while in captivity.  He is buried in the Confederate section of Woodlawn National Cemetery, grave number 1642.

John Andrew Cooper Stinson
10/19/1846 - 08/09/1910

Company A, 1st Battalion Artillery, CSA

Captured at Ft. Morgan, AL, transfered to Elmira, NY prison until released on June 11,1865 (son of Leander Stinson and Nancy Ann Pinkerton), Wife Annie Elizabeth Smith. Buried Providence Cemetery.

Captured at Ft. Morgan, AL, transfered to Fort Columbus, N.Y.H. (New York harbor), received at Elmira, NY prison on Dec 4, 1864. Died Feb. 11,1865. Buried Woodlawn Cemetery, Elmira NY, grave number 2058.
