Franklin 10/26/1846 - 03/06/1865 Company A 1st Alabama Artillery Battalion,
CSA Companies A-F were formed as part of the
"Army of Alabama". Captured at Fort Morgan, AL 1864. Transferred to
Elmira Prison, Elmira, NY (know as Hellmira because of its appalling
conditions). Died 6 March 1865 (just a few months before the prisoners were
released). He is buried in the Confederate section of Woodlawn National
Cemetery, grave number 2387. Ennis was the son of Mark (Martin) Franklin and
Nancy Stapleton of Butler County, Alabama. |

Thomas Dean Company A 1st Alabama Artillery Battalion,
CSA Captured at Fort Morgan. Transferred
to Elmira NY, Elmira, NY. Died while in captivity. He is buried in the
Confederate section of Woodlawn National Cemetery, grave number 1642. |
