Helen Gilbrech tells how Ollie and Lorraine met. In 1925, Lorraine was living in Los Angeles. On a visit to Aunt Grace in Harrisberg, IL, the State Fair was being held and part of that was horse races. Aunt Grace and Lorraine went to the area around the bandstand. Some men were betting on horses. Ollie asked Lorraine to go to dinner with him. Aunt Grace said, "No, we don't know you." Lorraine gave him her phone number and said to call her tomorrow. The next day Ollie showed up sitting on the swing on the front porch ofAunt Grace's house.
