ISABELLE AMANS

Isabelle Amans was born about 1840 to Francois Xavier Amans and Angele Morin. I have not found a christening record for her. On an 1861 Canadian census it states that she is 26. If that is correct she would have been born in 1835 making her the oldest in the Amans family, not Charles.

On 3 Sep 1860 she married Francois Xavier Martin. Their marriage record is found in St. Patrice Parish, Tingwick, Arthabaska, Quebec, Canada. To this union seven children were born: Celina, Marie Virginie, Marie Isabella, Delima, Annabella, Francois and Rosalie. For these children I have either christening, marriage or death records. Perhaps there are more children I have not found. Isabelle's name is recorded as Aman, Lallemand and Amond on the records of her children. Isabelle and Elizabeth were used interchangeably on records where her name appears.

Isabelle was about 26 in 1864 when her mother, her father, her sister, Henrietta, and a daughter, Celina died. She was the Mother of two or three children by that time in her life.

It seems that Isabelle and her family did not emigrate to the United States with the rest of the Amans family, but chose instead to stay in Canada.

I have not found a death record for Isabelle.
