MARY AMONE

(Picture)
Mary was born 19 Apr 1855 and christened the same day. Her records are in St. Eusebe Parish, Princeville, Arthabaska, Quebec, Canada. She was the 10th child of Francois Xavier Amans and Angele Morin and was 9 years old when her parents died.

She married Camille Beffa about 1874.

The 1880 Federal census shows she was living in Cedar Lakes, Wisconsin with three children. The oldest child was born about 1876.

The 1900 Federal census states she had been married 26 years, and was the mother of 8 children, with 5 living. I have found records for only 5 of the children: Elizabeth, Camille, Albert, Peter and Laura.

In 1900 Mary and her husband and family were still living in Cedar Lakes, Wisconsin. However, the family appears on the 1910 Federal census in Anacortis, Skagit, Washington. At some later date they moved to Yakima, Washington.

Mary suffered many years with an enlarged thyroid gland. She died 24 Mar 1919 in Yakima, Washington at the age of 64. Her death certificate says she died of heart problems and enlarged thyroid. She was buried 26 Mar 1919 in the Tahoma Cemetery in Yakima, Washington. Her husband, Camille, was buried beside her on 11 Jan 1932.
