HOTELS of early THAMES compiled by Althea Barker
LAST UPDATED 1 November 2009 - A WORK IN PROGRESS :)
Intro: In the General info column are a references/information from different sources which apart from giving info on the hotel's; also serve to show when the hotel was operating. Mr Isdale's article on the 'Hotels of Thames' formed the basis to this list, and then I have attempted to source references to enlarge the picture. Bush Licences were different and may refer to different hotels. As always any extra information/corrections appreciated.
NB: There are multiple references for some items, I have tended to put the one that gave the most info. If no ref given, it is because it has been mentioned repeatedly in all sources.
PLEASE NOTE that several surnames given in differnet sources have similarities and could be spelling variants & NOT DIFFERENT PEOPLE
Locations: I have bracketed info with approx locations, a map is available online for several Hotels, via Treasury Journal article

KEY to abbreviations used: ER: Electoral Roll, StDir: Street Directory/'s, Lic: LICENCE, SC: Southern Cross Newspaper, NP: Newspaper

HOTELS of early THAMES compiled by Althea Barker
LAST UPDATED 11 January 2010 - A WORK IN PROGRESS :)
