Notes for Edward A. BUMBALOUGH
Owed 20,000 pds tobacco in Virginia, 7 Mar 1704. Sues and recovers 4,000 in 1707. [ [1034]] Apparently, there’s one tradition through his granddaughter Elizabeth that he was a full Cherokee Chief Judge. However, he and his family appear as white in Virginia and North Carolina records and his son Isaac voted in the 1741 election (Indians were disenfranchised in VA in the 1720s.) See http://www.eskimo.com/~lcsims/brumbelow.html for a more full debunking of the theory.

Listed as builder of the Richmond Co, VA courthouse.
