Notes for Joseph HATCH
Soldier in King Phillip’s War and noted for his skill with a rifle. He could supposedly split an apple at 20 rods. He inherited his father’s homestead in Falmouth and added to it, creating a large estate. Because his children all moved to Connecticut before his death, his property was divided at their removal. There is no will on record; it may have burned in 1825 at Barnstable.
