Notes for Deacon John SLATER
Shows up in “Legendary Connecticut,” a collection of local legends, in the legend of Debby Griffen. Debby was a witch who stole from the local congregation, was pursued into the forest, and disappeared into Three Cornered Pond in Shrewsbury. John shows up as the Deacon who made the sermon the day the theft was discovered and at whose house local residents formulated their attack. See

Notes for Elizabeth HOLCOMB
Granted 200 acres for “John Salter’s heirs” (sic - likely typo) in 1723 Simsbuy annual town meeting (Simsbury history website).
Listed in Simsbury Town records as the third daughter of Joshua Holcomb and his wife Ruth Sherwood. That is likely not contemporary, as an entry on the same page lists her death, having "had 3 husbands".
