Notes for Thomas Meakins
Came with his wife Catherine and was admitted to the church at Boston 2 Feb 1633/4. They were admitted to the church at Braintree 6 Jun 1641. He had a lot in Boston before Nov 1635, but did not build on it -- both he and his son Thomas appear in a list of those who had not built upon their lots, thus they were being disposed of. He appears to have owned property through 1645, when the houselot of Matthew Chaffee is listed as bounding that of Thomas Meekins.[ [501]]

Savage’s: THOMAS, Boston 1633, came prob. in the Griffin, adm. with w. Catharine of Boston ch. 2 Feb. foll. then call. "serv. to our br. Edmund Quincy," freem. 9 Mar. 1637 prob. d. in few yrs. and his wid. went to live at Roxbury, with a s. Thomas, there d. "an aged woman," as Eliot writes "mo. of br. Meakins," 3 Feb. 1651.
Notes for Katherine Greene
“Thomas Makins, my sister’s son” is mentioned in the will of Thomas Bell of Roxbury, made 29 Jan 1671 in London (NEHGR 38:63), leading to the frequent citation of Katherine’s last name as Bell. However, Thomas Bell was a wealthy merchant from Suffolk, while Katherine and Thomas first appear as servants of Edmund Quincy, from Northampton. Also, Thomas Bell was much younger than Katherine, more the age of her son Thomas. The marriage record of Thomas and Katherine, and the baptism records, were found by following Quincy family records back to Achurch. See NEHGR 157:31-33.
