Notes for John Smith
Chamberlain, then Alderman (1600), and Bailiff by 1605 of Stratford on Avon, he lived after his father had moved away, in The New House, High Street, which his father had owned and lived in.
Notes for Alice Walker
Sister of Henry Walker, who was an overseer of her husband’s will and likely trained her son Richard as a mercer. Henry was also noted as Shakespeare’s friend, mercer of Stratford, church-warden, three times mayor and finally "gentleman", and perhaps granddaughter of Henry Walker of Snittfield, co. Warwick, whose 1558 will was witnessed by Shakespeare's grandfather, Richard Shakespeare. Shakespeare was godfather to Henry Walker's son William. [681]

There are siblings named Alice and Henry Walker recorded in the 1560s in the registers of Alcester, Warwick, as children of William, and in Solihull, Warwick, with no father. Neither are listed in Stratford, where the registers start in 1558.
