Arrived in Hingham 10 Aug 1638 aboard the Diligent from Gravesend, England. This fact is noted in the Bridgewater death records which list his death as 1684. The family
moved to Bridgewater about 1660. In 1667, Samuel served on the Jury that laid out the streets of the town. In 1670, he was licensed to keep an ordinary.
[570]Baptism is for the son of George Packard and Mary Weyeth/Whither, who m. at Woolpit Parrish March 27, 1600. George was bur Dec. 14, 1623 at Stonham Aspal. However, other evidence points to Samuel’s birth as 1604 or so, and children were typically baptized as infants. (
