Drylands Cemetery Northampton County, PA
I have never been here but what I see is three stones, one large two small. The stones seem to have writing on each side. Some pictures were donated to my personal site by Barbara, some by Tanya a Bonstein cousin and more were donated to Our Hessian website by Robert. Robert stated the tombstones were taken to the dump.. How horrible not only did several of us lose our personal history but so did our nation. Hessian ancestors are as much of the American History as all the battle sites...

Stemler (Stemmler, Stamler, Stammler), Heinrich (Henry). Born Oct. 6, 1754 (baptism record) or Sep. 24, 1754 (tombstone) in Ropperhausen, Hessia; died Feb. 22, 1830 (newspaper notice and tombstone) in Heidelberg Township, Lehigh County, PA; buried in Old Cemetery at Union Church, North Whitehall Township, Lehigh County, PA. Military Unit: private in Hessen-Kassel Von Knyphausen Regiment, Company 5. Service: May 4, 1774-Dec. 26, 1776; taken prisoner at Trenton and sent to Lancaster, PA Other: served in 5th Co., 1st Battalion of the Northampton County militia in 1785; married Catharina Helfrich and had 8 children Contributed by Barbara contact through list.
Bonstein, Johann Jacob Born 27 Feb 1754 in Ropperhausen, Hesse-Kassell, Now Grossrouperhousen, Germany; d. Died 1840 in Northhampton Co., PA. All the old graves are no longer there, a memorial board was erected to the people whose graves were removed. Contributed by descendant Nelda contact through list
