Diehl family gathering in Butzbach Germany 2007
Author: Caron BrennanDate: 1 Oct 2005 5:52 PM GMT
Surnames: Diehl

Following the wonderful Diehl family gathering of descendants of Adolf Adam Diehl in Helsinki/Helsingfors organized by Franciska Sundholm ne Diehl earlier this year I would like to invite you to the next

International Diehl Family Gathering in Butzbach from
Friday 29 June to Sunday 01 July 2007.

This time an even bigger meeting is planned also hoping for descendants of Heinrich Christoph Diehl who emigrated to the US in 1851 and Phillip Diehl who emigrated to the US about 1880/81 to participate and of course as many of Diehl relatives still residing in Germany.

Since Butzbach will host the celebrations of the day of the State of Hesse (Hessentag) in the first half of June 2007 the old part of the town will be nicely restored!

Planned events  subject to change:
Visit of the Evangelical Saint Mark's Church where the Diehl's were baptised, confirmed and wedded
Guided tour of the medieval Butzbach within the town walls
Guided tour of the Museum of Butzbach
Buffet dinner with culinary specialities of Hesse.

Dr. Wolf, director of the museum and archive of the town of Butzbach, has already agreed to de-liver a lecture about the Diehl family's history even before we left for Helsinki gathering.

Languages of communication are English and German.

If any one has suggestions please do not hesitate to email, write or phone.

Please help to make this family gathering a success by either spreading this information to as many relatives as possible or by submitting further email or postal addresses to me.

In November I will send the next email to make a preliminary survey of the number of potential par-ticipants.

I would be very grateful to greet many Diehl relatives at the origin of the family roots in 2007.

Warm regards,

Alfred Häuser
