Notes from Charlotte West Genealogy- George Scrogin, Jr. Adoption and Servant- After 1700 Penelope Theobald Land- Godmother, and bound to Thomas Plunkett until age 21. In most cases, bound meant indentured to servitude, slave. When a father died owning money, a Bondsman would oft times pay the debt, and make the children work for them until that debt was paid in full. Also it needs note that sometimes an apprenticeship to a trade was also called a bond or bound. Kathy Franklin-Hamilton 6/22/02 George married Elizabeth Warren. (Elizabeth Warren was born in 1698 in Maryland and died before 1750 in Maryland.) George next married Charity Theobald. (Charity Theobald was born in 1696 and died in 1771 in William and Mary Parrish, Charles Co., Maryland.) |
