LANTZ GENEALOGY H5181 William Calvin Lantz H518 William Calvin Lantz, son of George W. and Mary (Bennett) Lantz was born January 26, 1853. He was edu- cated at Hamburg Seminary, Hamburg, Va., and Polytechnic Institute, New Market, Va. He now owns and lives at the Moore farm and is also owner of several other farms, amongst them the old Lantz homestead where the family cemetery is located. This farm has always been in the Lantz family, having been granted to George Lantz by Lord Fairfax. He was Justice of the Peace in Ashby District for six- teen years. He taught school ten sessions. He is Vice-Presi- dent and Director of the Mt. Jackson National Bank. He is a member of the Reformed Church. H5185 Ella Eva Lonas H518 Ella Eva, daughter of George W. and Mary (Bennett) Lantz was born April 24, 1863. May 8, 1890, she married Samuel Peter Lonas, who was born June 1853 and died Nov. 16, 1914. She died Feb. 28, 1904. She had five children: 1. Elwood Lantz, born Feb. 17, 1891, died Mar. 3, 1900; 2. William Calvin, born Sept. 3, 1893, merchant, Luth- eran; 3. Samuel Ralph, born Feb. 21, 1891, died Oct. 23, 1897; 4. Mary Elizabeth, born Apr. 22, 1901, married Ford Baum, June 19, 1929; 5. Alden Bennett, born Jan. 18, 1904, merchant, Mt. Jack- son, Va. H5186 Bettie Lantz Holtzman H518 Bettie Bell, daughter of George W. and Mary (Bennett) Lantz was born July 28, 1867. Sept. 26, 1889, she married Joseph F. Holtzman, who was born July 27, 1855. Educated at State Teachers College. She now resides in Edinburg, Va. She is owner of Lake View Farm, one of the old Lantz tracts deeded by Lord Fairfax and adjoining the tract belonging to her brother. She is a stockholder in the Mt. Jackson Na- tional Bank and the Farmers Bank of Edinburg. She is a member of the Reformed Church. She has children: 1. George Benjamin; 2. Mary Margurite; 3. Joseph Harrison; 4. William Lantz. 238
