He gave up his home and business in Lebanon to go to Iowa and never was satisfied in Iowa. F21 Jacob Lantz F2 Jacob Lantz, son of Jacob and Elizabeth (Rodocher) Lantz was born Aug. 17, 1798 near Lampeter, Lancaster County, Pa. In 1819, he married Hetty Weaver (born Apr. 5, 1798-died July 3, 1881). He was a farmer and a carpenter and lived in Lime Valley, Pa. He died Nov. 6, 1881. He had children: Ephraim, born Aug. 18, 1821, died Oct. 24, 1821; Benjamin, see family of Benjamin H. Lantz (F212); Eliza- beth, born Apr. 16, 1824, died May 26, 1825; Jacob, born Oct. 1, 1825, died Apr. 30, 1830; Isaac, see family of Isaac Lantz (F215); Hetty, see family of Hetty Meyers (F216); John Neff, see family of John Neff Lantz (F217) ; Abraham, born Feb. 25, 1833, died June 13, 1841; Anna, born July 27, 1834, died Dec. 22, 1908, married John Trout; Susanna, born July 6, 1836, died Sept. 9, 1837; Samuel, see family of Samuel Lantz (F21b); and Leah, born Apr. 26, 1839, died Sept. 5, 1915. F22 John Lantz F2 John Lantz, son of Jacob and Elizabeth (Rodocher) Lantz was born near Lampeter, Pa. He married Martha Diffenbach. They had three children: George, see family of George Lantz (F221); Amos; and Maria. F23 Elizabeth Lantz F2 Elizabeth Lantz, daughter of Jacob and Elizabeth Lantz was born and raised in Lancaster County, Pa. At the age of 20, she died from consumption. She became over- heated while working in the harvest and coming to the house she drank a lot of cold water. She took a violent chill and died about two months later. 44
