    George W. Lantz was born in Leitersburg District Jan.
8, 1811, son of Christian and Esther (Musselman) Lantz.
He was a blacksmith and a farmer.  In 1834, he married
Mary B.  (daughter of Christian and Martha Drill) of FYed-
erick Co., Md.  Mr. Lantz was a Democrat and a Lutheran.
He died May 26, 1894.  His descendents are:
   1. Martha H., born July 11, 1829, died Mar. 19, 1897, mar-
      ried James F. Leiter;
        1. Anna M., married George H. Wolfinger, resides at
          Chambersburg, Pa.;
            1. Max L. Wolfinger;
            2. Don L. Wolfinger;
        2. Titus Benton Leiter;
        3. Barbara V., died in infancy;
        4. Levi Z. Leiter;
        5. Joseph G., M. D., residing in Brooklyn, N. Y.;
            1. Martha V. Leiter;
        6. Elizabeth, died in childhood;
        7. Fannie K., married A. K. McGraw;
            1. Katheryne McGraw;
            2. James F. McGraw;

        8. James W., M. D., residing in Brooklyn, N. Y., mar-
          ried Miss Francis Cushwa;
            1. Mary C. Leiter;
            2. Joseph Leiter;

        9. Martha A., married Walter Young, resides in Lit-
          tlestown, Pa.;
            1. James L. Young;

   2. Sara Elizabeth, married John Leiter, 714 Taylor St.,
      Topeka, Kansas;
   3. Anna C., married Elias Stottlemeyer, of Coveton, Md.;
   4. Mary Jane, married Samuel Dayhoff, of Smithsburg,
      Maryland;
   5. Rebecca, married Sylvester Trout, of Jersey, Idaho;
   6. Emma Sophia, died unmarried;
   7. Elvah H., married John Barkdoll;
   8. Alice Octavia, born Oct. 30, 1852, married Charles W.
      Paskel, resides Moorefield, W. Va.;
