My Research Results

On obtaining a copy of her grandparent's marriage certificate my aunt discovered that her grandmother was, in fact, Margaret Webster and not Margaret Gibbons as we had previously believed

Nevertheless, the Gibbons family of Burscough were closely related to the other boat families and there are at least two other marriages between Gibbons and Cheethams:

Richard Gibbons and Catherine Cheetham in 1915

Peter Gibbons and Margaret Cheetham in 1919

I do not know, as yet, what relationship these Cheethams are to ours but as they were boatmen from Burscough they must be related in some way.
