Introduction

The Melling, family I am interested in were boatmen on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal in Lancashire, England. My connection is Ellen Melling who was my maternal ggg grandmother.

Ellen Melling (1838-1876)

The Mellings were boatmen on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal. Ellen Melling married Edward Stopforth on 13th September 1858.

Ralph Melling (1815-1887)

Ellen's parents were Ralph Melling and Margery Abram.
