Origin and Meaning of the name Taylor
The origin of the name TAYLOR is the profession of tailor.
My mum's granny was Hannah Bentham (ne� Taylor) of Parbold, Lancashire.
My first aim here was to find out who Hannah's parents were and if she had any brothers or sisters. Next would be to find her grandparents and her mother, Jane's maiden name.
Hannah Taylor (1881-1958)
Hannah was my maternal grandmother's mother. She was born on 10th September 1881 in the village of Parbold in Lancashire. She married Henry Bentham on 17th August 1907 and died on 21st May 1958.
George Taylor b. 1854
Hannah's parents were George & Jane Taylor of Pemberton, Lancashire. George was born in 1854 and died on 31st October 1909. His wife Jane was born in 1856 and died on 4th April 1912.
The main information I have about the Taylors comes from the Family Bible which was passed down to my Grandmother.
