Family Tree Details for George Hampshire

Commentary

George Hampshire is listed as a widower on the marriage certificate (with Alice Edmonds).
Marriage Certificate also lists Alice Edmonds as living in Basford (i.e. not with George).

In 1888 (at time of marriage with Alice Hampshire) George Hampshire was living at 38 Haywood St, Sneinton (Nottingham). Later, according to family folklore, George and Alice were living in Pomfret St Nottingham (i.e. when William Mortimer was born).

In 1901 census George Hampshire is listed as a widow and Alice Edmonds (living with brother in Hull) is listed as married.

It is now believed that Alice Edmonds had 2 children prior to marrying George Hampshire. These would be Bernard Connor (b 1884 Leicester) and James Connor (b 1885 Nottingham). Whether or not George Hampshire was previously married is not known.
