bullet  General Notes:

Edward went to Ely at 21 and married in Martha Matthews in Wisbech. In the 1861 census Edward, a tinplate maker was recorded at Bristol Street, Birmingham, whilst Martha and young son William were with his parents in Sheffield. At the time of the 1871 census the family are all together again and living in Birmingham with Edward being described as a lamp maker.
Following Martha's death Edward married Matilda Matthews and the family were listed on the 1881 census at 69 Peel Street, Birmingham, where Edward was a lamp maker (again carrying on the family tradition of working with metals).
In 1901 Edward and Matilda are recorded as living 'on own means' at 104 Oak Road, Smethwick. Edward is still at this address in 1911 and is described as a widower and property owner, with him at the time is a 'niece' Alice Beatrice Kilcoyne aged 47 and born in Sheffield.
