William WALSH
Bill went to De La Salle Grammar School and went on to be a Builder's Estimator prior to the Second World War. During the war he served in the RAF as a pilot. On his return from service he taught at St Vincent's, Solly Street, Sheffield and St John Fishers RC Comp., Beaver Hill Rd., Sheffield. Bill and his wife Dorothy lived briefly at 321Crookesmoor Road when they were first married, but the family home became 80 Old Retford Road, Sheffield. They were active parishioners of St Joseph's, Handsworth, Sheffield and Bill was an active member of the Knights of St Columba.
