Descendants of John Borthwick & Catherine Glover, Prince Edward island & the USA

John BORTHWICK and Catherine GLOVER were both born in Scotland. She was the daughter of William Glover and Sarah ?, but his parents are unknown. John had been born in 1797 in Westerkirk, DFS, Scotland.

I haven't been able to find the marriage of John and Catherine but they must have arrived in Canada before 1822 as their first (?) son Robert was born at Prince Edward Island in that year. There were at least seven children of this couple, all of whom seemed to survive to adulthood and most of whom spread to other parts of the world, including Australia and various states in the USA.

Robert moved to Idaho, Adam to SK, Christopher to Victoria Australia where he died in 1896, James to New Hampshire, and Alexander to Minnesota, USA.

Catherine Glover, a school teacher, died in 1842 and it seems that John remarried, to a Mary NEIL. This marriage must have been a short one as John died only two years after Catherine, on 11 Mar 1844 at Barbarawait Mill, Prince Edward, Island, Canada. . John was a grist mill operator. Does this mean he died at work?

Some time ago a Robert Holt was researching this family, but we can't locate Robert at his old email address. Another descendant, Joanne Holt Kearney, knows a little about the family of Alexander Borthwick. However, we'd like to hear from any descendants of this family.
