While searching for my own family I have found, or been given, a good deal of information about Borthwicks, other than my own family. The information from Philadelphia Directories and Census returns is posted here with thanks to a number of very generous genealogists on the Rootsweb Philadelphia Mailing List 2000. If you have any information about Borthwicks in Philadelphia that you'd like to share I would be happy to post it here. The Robert Borthwick listed here is a son of John Borthwick & Elizabeth Dinwiddie who were married in Scotalsn in 1781. Robert was born in Dumfrieshire, Scotland circa 1798. I am searching for his descendants in the USA.
