The Antigo Public Library has indexed some, but not all, microfilms of Antigo newspapers by subject and surname from about 1882 to 1945, and some random portions of more recent years. The indexing procedures varied under different Library Directors. They did not always index obituaries of people who did not live in the Antigo area even when the obituary was published in the newspaper. The Weekly News Item Newspaper is not included in the library's card catalog index. I am looking at and indexing obituaries in every newspaper the library has on microfilm. Therefore, my obituary indexes include all obituaries that are in all of the Langlade County newspapers that are on microfilm from 1882 to the present. Therefore, you may be able to find obituaries in my indexes that are not listed in the Library's card catalog.
