Genealogy and Family Heritage

Genealogy is the account of human pedigrees, describing and documenting family relationships and ancestors. And it has become one of today's most popular and intensive Hobbys . Genealogy is the archeological and anthropological study of one's family heritage and ancestry. Ancestor-hunting is enjoyable, satisfying, and always full of surprises. It has all the intrigue of mystery and the thrill of the chase. Solving the puzzles is challenging. Making you want to know more about your family heritage.

Most early families did not document their heritage. Perhaps because they could not read or write or they did not have pen and paper, because most families were very poor in the beginning. They also tended to live close together, in extended families, keeping a single family Bible and other treasures. But circumstances changed , families migrated or moved on. They often lost track of who and what their ancestors had loved and treasured. Family Bibles and papers often ended up in unknown places. Generations became far removed from the ancestors and documents of their heritage, not knowing what they had lost.

It has been only as this century draws to a close that people have started to reflect on the past. Wanting to know who they are and where they came from . Too often, the people who could tell the family tales are long passed away. Names are lost, places are forgotten. But the search is not impossible.
