Here are a few of my family photos beginning with the oldest ones I can find. My Grandmothers album  contains many old photographs, some of which are beautiful, nameless faces. I am trying to document the names of the ones that are known, before I too....forget..

These are my g g grandparents; Daniel Bowlin(g) and Fanny Halbert Bowling. Daniel was b in 1845, Hancock County, Tennessee. He fought in the Civil War, 39th Kentucky Infantry.  He was the son of Louisa, dau of Michael Bowling. Louisa married William Gibson, but I do not know if she was married at the time of Daniels or his two sisters Webba and Luckys births. Daniel used the name Bowlin(g). Louisa was living in the house with Michael in 1850, Hancock Co., with the 3 small children. In 1880. Michael was living with Louisa and her husband William Gibson in Floyd Co. Ky. Michael was a veteran of the War of 1812, and drew a pension. It is stated on his pension application that he was married to Easter Tucker of Washington D. C. and that she was deceased at the time of the application. He and his brother John Bowlin(g) were documented by Lewis M. Jarvis, an attorney in Sneedville, Hancock Co. Tenn. as being old pureblood Indians who fought in the War of 1812.

Fanny Halbert was b in 1848, Floyd Co. Ky. She was the daughter of William Halbert and Lucinda Thornsberry Halbert. Daniel and Fanny were married in Floyd Co. Ky in 1872. They had at least 5 children; Louisa, Lucinda, William Grant, Daniel Burbage & Julina.

Daniel later married Dollie Jane Gibson and had several more children. He is buried in Pike County, Ohio. Fanny is buried in Laurel, W. Va.

As amazing as it seems, Daniel was born 155 years ago and at this writing, still had two living daughters; Pearl and Grace.
