Journal of Mary Gertrude Fuller Morrison 1887 - 1947
Journal kept by Mary Gertrude Fuller Morrison
1887 - 1947

I transcribed this journal in 2014; punctuation was added; spelling is original. Occasionally words had been  added  to the original journal by someone unknown with a  different pen; I will italicize  them.  Any new words I personally insert  will be in  brackets]. Names  of people have been bolded,  to make them more visible, and I have added identification of people, as far as I was able, at the end. This journal was passed from Gertrude to her daughter Helen, when she was living with her in the 1950’s. Helen’s granddaughter Helen Doreen Slicz inherited it, but  when the younger Helen died, her step-mother Carol Silicz gave it to me. The family is living in York county, Nebraska along the banks of the Lincoln Creek at the time Gertrude begins her journal in September 1887. She is living with her mother Callie Stewart Fuller Hubbell and her step-father Seneca Hubbell. Gertrude is not yet married when she begins writing but she marries Josiah Morrison a few months later.
