On the 1901 Census (31 March) Edward was aged 8 months, living with his parents, 1 brother and 1 sister at 20 Cliffield Road, Swinton. (PRO ref RG13 piece 4402 folio 19 page 29) - shown as ALDSON on Ancestry.co.uk index

On the 1911 Census (2 April) he was aged 10, a school boy, living with his parents at 10(?) Wheatley Lane, Doncaster. (PRO ref RG14 ??)

Edward married Eliza Ann Jones on 16 October 1920 at the parish church of Maltby with Hexthorpe after banns. He was aged 21, a bachelor and coal miner. His father was John Edward, a petrol ?overman?. Eliza was aged 20 and a spinster. Her father was John William Jones (deceased), formerly a miner. Both Edward and Eliza were of 10 Coronation Road, Maltby? [NEED TO CHECK]. image002On Wednesday 23 January 1929 Edward, who was now an electrician living at 17 Aldam Road, Doncaster, fell 47 feet from an electric standard while engaged in fixing an overhead cable in a field between Hooten Roberts and Ravenfield. He was conveyed to the Doncaster Infirmary in the Rotherham ambulance and detained, suffering from a back injury. (Sheffield Daily Telegraph, Thursday 24 January, 1929, page 3)


On 29 September 1939 National Registration Day took place. The register shows Edward and family living at 31 Scarth Avenue, Doncaster:
a) Edward Ardron, [born] 30 July 1900, married, crude oil furnace man

b) Eliza A. Ardron, 20 December 1900, married, unpaid domestic duties

c) Ronald E. Ardron, 10 June 1928, single, at school

Administration of Edward's estate was granted to Eliza Ann on 28 May 1964: "Ardron, Edward of 31 Scarth Ave Doncaster died 8 May 1964 at Royal Infirmary Doncaster. Administration Wakefield 28 May to Eliza Ann Ardron, widow. Effects 537." (Wills & Admons 1964, Family Division of the High Court)
