Ernest married Leah Mansell on 23 November 1935 at St. Stephen's Church, Eastwood(?) Parish, Yorkshire after banns. He was aged 24, a bachelor and miner. His father was also a miner. Leah was a spinster, aged 22. Her father was Tom Mansell (deceased). Both Ernest and Leah were of 44 Shaftesbury Square. Witnesses were George Smith and George Lambert(?).
