Descendants of James/John Blackwood: Second Generation

Second Generation

2. Col John Crane2 Blackwood (Cpl Matr James (John)1) (#1137) was born in Boston, Suffolk, MA 20 Jun 1783/6.(14) Was he born in Hingham, MA 1786 and came with his parents to Pembroke (as it says in the Dennysville Centennial and other papers), or was he the first white child born in Dennysville as reported elsewhere?

Most sources say born 26 Jan 1786 in Hingham; however, some (i.e., Ralph Blackwood) say b Pembroke; Sue Szewczyk and Carol Fisher say b Boston, MA 20 Jun 1783 (Question: if parents were married 1 Jan 1783 as Carol and Sue claim; means John was "an early baby???"). John died in MA.(15) Robert E. Gibson says d 1827/8; however, this date must be wrong as it's before his marriage date

He married twice. He married Adeline (Blackwood) in Eastport, Washington, ME, 13 Oct 1808.(16) Note: Some ../sources say m 13 Oct 1848 and that all John's children were by Adeline; Fisher-Szewczyk say m 13 Oct 1808 in Eastport, ME(?) and that John's children were by Hannah - really need to resolve this issue. (Adeline (Blackwood) is #1138.)

Adeline was born 1790 in Eastport, Washington, ME.(17) He married Hannah Buzzell in Bangor, Penobscot, ME, 22 Dec 1813.(18) poss 23 Dec 1813 (Hannah Buzzell is #50065.)

Hannah was born 1 Aug 1794 in Bangor, Penobscot, ME.(19) Hannah was the daughter of Pvt Isaac Buzzell and Prudence Allen.

He resided in Robbinston, Washington, ME.(20) moved to Robbinston, ME because he couldn't make a living at Young's Cove - Ralph Blackwood's source: "Genealogy of Pembroke Families" by Sydney and Gerald Wilder
