JAMES EDWARD BIVENS, was born March 2, 1840 in Old Town Alabama. He married ELLEN SALTER. He served as a Private in the Confederate Soldier in the War in the 16th Alabama Infantry under General Zollicoffer's Brigade. He applied for Relief of Confederate Soldiers on July 12, 1902. He died in 1927 and is buried in Carroll Cemetery, Shelby County Texas.
